This 1960s German wall map depicts "Bevolkerung Der Erde" or Population of the Earth." The four graphs represent (from left to right, top to bottom) "Population Density," "Religion," "Language," and "Culture, Space and Hiking." Illustrations are rendered with a wonderful mid century bold graphic style and color palette.
Manufactured by Denoyer-Geppert and illustrated Karl Wenschow in Munich. Wenschow, a celebrated sculptor and cartographer, developed the procedure for the industrial production of precise relief maps in 1918.
Wood-bound on top and bottom and ready-to-hang.
